My students deal with many struggles on a daily basis. Being that they are teenagers they face peer pressure, holding jobs while attending school, family situations, relationships, extracurricular activities, and school. This can mean students who have high anxiety with no escape from the pressure. This has made my goal of creating a warm, welcoming, environment that encourages learning and creativity even more important. I have learned that when the classroom becomes slightly less sterile students are more apt to participate in learning and push their own boundaries of success.
