As a first-year teacher, I am excited, anxious and nervous all at the same time! For the first days of our learning journey together, I would like my students to create story booklets about who they are (name, age, birthday), where they were born and then some of their favorite things to do. When the booklets are finished, the students will share them with each other, first in small groups, then to the class. This will be a fun way to learn about each other.
Then, in a few weeks, we will use these booklets during Know-Your-School-Night. Each story booklet will be on the student's desk for their families to read. Of course, we will continue using the paper, ink, and printer throughout the year, highlighting student work.
