I am a brand new teacher, working in a brand new classroom for students who have Autism and are on the alternate curriculum. In my classroom I am trying to create a visually structured educational classroom for students who are in Kindergarten through Second grade. A majority of the students in my class are all English Language Learners. The students in my class are full of life and enjoy coming to school. My classroom is on an elementary campus, and we are the only Autism/ Alternate curriculum classroom. I would describe our school as safe environment for our students. We are a Title One school and all students are provided with free meals. We do our best to promote further learning for our students, such as intervention,tutoring before and after school. In addition we offer Saturday school to students who need extra support in English Language Arts.
