My students perform best when they are engaged and working on hands-on activities. They love to communicate, collaborate, and think creatively. We also have many budding computer engineers who have started to learn coding and are passionate about becoming experts!
Unfortunately, we do not have any technology available for student use in our classroom. Chromebooks will allow students to learn more about coding through Code.org, a program that many of them are eager to continue! Because we are a Google Classroom school, the Chromebooks will also allow students to work on assignments and participate in projects collaboratively. In our classroom, we believe in showcasing student work in diverse ways that allow students to access their creativity. Students will be able to use websites to create videos, write blogs, and explore their individual passions. Many of my students are below grade level in reading, and Chromebooks will give them access to valuable reading programs to support classroom instruction.
Students will learn how to access the internet safely and become digitical citizens to support them in the transition to middle school next year. The use of Chromebooks will help my students become independent learners! In addition, the Education License will allow for safe and secure management of student devices.
