Donors and friends I have a curious group of preschoolers with various special needs in a Title 1 public school in Arizona. These students need toys and materials to explore, build, socialize and create. Manipulatives including blocks of many different configurations give them to opportunity to try out ideas, see how things work, persist and keeping trying until they accomplish their project or structure. We have wooden blocks but the joy of interconnecting structures that can be built over and over gives them to opportunity to work together or alone to realize that when them keep trying, success will come on their level. Our discovery area needs a variety of toys and materials to explore and develop problem solving skills needed throughout their academic years. No picture is available due to confidentiality in special education.
