Most of the students in my classroom are of the lowest income in the community. They battle daily with gang violence and desperately need a safe place where they can learn. They are energetic and ready to learn, however they do not have everything they need to strive in this learning environment. They are scientists, and doctors, waiting to graduate and go to college. My students are energetic, they love to read, and they love math.
