The supplies that I am requesting will provide students with the opportunity to receive a ballet education with traditional attire. Ballet dance is commonly seen as an art form for the affluent. Because my students are economically disadvantaged, they do not have the means to take a class and purchase the attire that is often required.
Through the donation of complete ballet attire including leotards, tights, skirts and shoes, students will gain pride and discipline in studying the art form in its authenticity. Uniformity is an important aspect of ballet during both class and performance. With matching attire, students will be able to perform with confidence while looking the part.
