My students are in an urban district in Cleveland, Ohio and are in an inclusion setting. They all come from diverse backgrounds culturally, which can sometimes limit their communication at home. All of my students use American Sign Language as their primary mode of communication, and considering that English is not their first language, they struggle in reading and writing, but that does not mean they aren't motivated to do their best! They keep me on my toes and teach me new things every day. Their curiosity of the world that surrounds them keeps me learning and growing. They are a funny, loving, energetic class that could benefit from the type of hands-on learning that I hope to provide them.
