Every year in May, we put together a celebration for our seniors called Decision Day. Our Decision Day event will be held May 1st, 2020 for the graduating Class of 2020. During this event, our seniors are celebrated in front of those who have watched and helped them walk through their high school journey. They are celebrated for making a commitment to their future; whether that be college, trade school, apprenticeships, military, etc. We play games, take pictures, do raffles, activities and of course, lots of laughing takes place. This is a day for us to celebrate everything they have achieved throughout the year and all of the incredible milestones they have hit! During our Decision Day, we give away incentives, through raffles, that will be useful to them once they embark on their new college-bound journey. We try to get incentives for our students that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to purchase due to financial cost and/or other barriers. Being a teenager is hard enough, but adding in financial barriers along with trying to plan for your future can be terrifying. I strive for them to be excited about their future and ready to take on those next steps. This is my main goal throughout the school year as well as during our Decision Day event. My students and I would appreciate it if you could help make their kick-off to college everything they ever dreamed it would be!
