I teach students that have a moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder. Students in our program range in ages 4 to 7 years old. We have 13 students enrolled in our class currently. Our students benefit from having strong routines and a structures based program. All areas of instruction need to be very clearly defined with visual supports posted and modifications made to instructional materials as well as the classroom environment to ensure the success of each child. Most students in our program require an individual picture schedule that clearly indicates each transition that will occur throughout the day. Our students are working on critical life skills, behaviors as well as pre-academic/academic development daily. It's a very fun and fully comprehensive school day.
