I have the privilege of working with an extraordinary group of students who come to school everyday ready to learn and explore. All 34 students are in the Resource Special program, and come to our classroom - lovingly named the Learning Center - for specialized academic instruction in small groups. Each student who comes to the LC has a Specific Learning Disability (such as a processing delay), Intellectual Disability, or Other Health Impairment. Our school is located in a struggling part of our city, with 35% of our student population designated as homeless. Despite these adversities, my students continue to shine and work hard.
