Literature is a powerful tool to help children see the world from diverse perspectives. I am dedicated to using children's books in my classroom to facilitate conversations around confronting racism and celebrating diversity. As a first year teacher, I've worked hard to establish my classroom library and it is very well loved by my students.
This project will help me continue to grow the number of books in my classroom that represent diverse cultures, races, and identities.
By adding these titles to my classroom, I will be able to engage my students in richer exploration of our multicultural world during read alouds and independent reading.
