My classroom is quite lively. We like to make models and do experiments or labs as often as possible. My meat-n-potatoes is intro high school biology, but I have upper-classman chemistry and human physiology sections, too. I've got an awesome lab-style room and it can get pretty busy and pretty messy.
We are on the southeast-facing side of the Big Island of Hawaii, at the base of Mauna Loa. We are about 26 miles from Volcanoes National Park. The perfect place to teach biology. :-)
One of the things that makes my classroom so much fun and feels really rewarding to me is the students. Our school is located in a very remote place and the majority of these kids have gone to school together for most of their lives. In fact, our school is a K-12 public school, so we are very small.
My classroom is crazy busy beginning before school and then non-stop throughout the day. It's the spot to be, apparently. :-)
