Artists comes in many different forms and shapes. In Swift smArt studio, students are encouraged to explore various art media to develop and express their own voices. Ultimately student artists create original work of arts with their authentic voices!
Your donation will allow my students to learn SILKSCREEN PRINTING, one of the most magical experience for young (and old) artists playing with layers of colors, chances, and original designs!
I successfully secured some screens and squeegees through other source but silkscreen printing needs more than that! The aprons to keep students clean as possible, brown papers to protect the tables and make the cleaning easy in a classroom where there are back to back classes, and the washable finger paints that allows students to be bold with experiment but yet allow easy layering during the printing, and papers for printing on!
This is especially a wonderful opportunity for my middle school students who lost the natural Picasso in them over time. The process of this hands on experience is so playful and it will result in amazing imageries that goes beyond planning and predictability!
