This is my 5th year teaching. I taught 1st grade for four years. This is my 1st year teaching 2nd grade. Since I was placed into a different grade level this year I had to move classrooms. A few weeks after giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, I headed back to school to set up a new classroom for my students. After weeks of hard work I had finally finished just in time for the first day. The excitement and joy on my students' faces that first day slowly faded as the historic flood rocked our state, city and school. We were forced to salvage what we could, pack up and move to a temporary campus while our school is being repaired. Within a few days we set up an entirely new classroom, put a smile on our faces and welcomed our students back for their 2nd "1st day of school." With support, hard work, patience and love for our students we are able to persevere and give these kids what they deserve!
