Nearly 85% of the student population qualifies for free or reduced priced lunch, and some students do not have a stable place to call home. Yet, they are curious, strong-minded, and willing to learn. Some of my students do not have computers nor Internet access once they leave school at the end of the day. At our school, we try to provide students with opportunities they may otherwise not have by going on field trips, engaging in hands-on projects, and putting technological devices in their hands.
