By donating to our class project you will play an essential part in helping us learn to read. The use of supplemental educational programs is a daily activity in my classroom, especially when reading and writing. . Using the districts model of small group teaching and learning , students go to their assigned area for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The recording microphones will allow them and myself to hear exactly what they read and recorded. In addition this will provide an easy way for them to exhibit and share their work . What becomes a problem is the fact that I am required to work with several groups therefore I need to have their reading recorded to allow informal assessment at a later time.. The phonics phones will be use with the lower performing students to allow them to hear themselves read to improve pronunciation and comprehension of low level text. The binoculars are used during observation journal writing time. Students will go on nature walks to find objects to observe closely. They will use the compass to identify the location that the object was found. Then they will write a description of the object. This project helps with descriptive writing. The ear buds with microphones will be utilized during our technology period. Students are using supplemental educational programs. They are required to listen to stories and words. Then respond to comprehension questions and repeat specified words for pronunciation accuracy. Due to lack of material students use the program without headphones. This is distracting to those who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction and information. With your help students will be able to avoid these problems and focus on learning.
