My students are from Boyle Heights in Los Angeles, California. Our school is a Title I school with 98% of students receiving free or reduced rate lunch. They are eager learners who embrace challenges and exploration. The majority of my students are English Language Learners who progress at different rates. They need ample amounts of reading material and leveled books to acquire the academic language and reading skills essential for their future success as readers.
