Higher academic expectations and fewer opportunities for physical activity can actually suppress a young child's natural need to move and explore, which in turn stifles their creativity and dulls their thinking skills. As adults we often choose our own work spaces, making accommodations for comfort and surrounding ourselves with tools that make us feel the most productive. Why should kids be any different?
Flexible seating not only empowers, it encourages! Students can accommodate their individual learning styles through flexible seating options that support their specific needs. For active students who struggle to pay attention in a static desk configuration, wobbling on a balance disc increases blood to the brain and thereby quiets the requirement for fidgeting. A soft, fun rug is a welcoming spot to gather or lay on to work.
Please help me to build a vibrant, supportive learning environment for my students!
