Our students spend eight hours of their day in school. Much of that time is spent sitting in seats that are as uncomfortable as they are restraining. Students today learn through hands-on learning which means we as teachers should encourage movement in our classrooms.
My students are movers and shakers in every sense of the words! I would like to provide flexible seating options for them to be able to gather, collaborate and create something with the knowledge they gain in my class.
By creating the "Creativity Corner", I hope to provide my students with a place to sit OR stand, and think outside of the box. With a comfortable rug for them to sit and collaborate, standing desks to allow them to move and fun bean bag chairs to help with the creative process, I hope to slowly convert my classroom into a place where students can become not just movers and shakers in their seats, but eventually in the world.
