I am currently the Media Technologies teacher at a Title I middle school in an agricultural community near the US/Mexico border. No matter what I am teaching, my students are amazingly creative, opinionated, and funny. They come from diverse backgrounds and experience their own unique trials. The vast majority of my students are economically disadvantaged, and that struggle does not cease to exist while at school. Despite the challenges and struggles that my students may face, we make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow.
While in my classroom, we are always in a state of constant movement, energy, and curiosity. The majority of what we do is student interest driven and structured to incorporate cross curricular content, social skill building, and life skills. Their ideas, thoughts, feelings, and experiences are what drive our classroom.
