The students in my classroom come from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and homes. Many are blessed enough to come from loving homes with hardworking parents who may not have the means to provide a whole lot. Many families are struggling to survive in our small tri-lingual town. Even with obstacles such as raising siblings, incarcerated/absent parents and divorce, these little miracles walk in with a smile on their face every day.
My purpose as their "school mom" is to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment where these students feel inspired to fail, make mistakes, and learn. In order to create this environment I continuously try to find innovate ways to keep them engaged, excited and interested in the learning about the world around us. Even with the odds against them, it is amazing what my students can do!
