My students are in a self-contained special education classroom ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade. My classroom serves primarily students with Autism who range from a pre-K to first grade level academically. Every day they come to school ready and excited to learn while trying their best.
These students are amazing, smart, funny, and unique! One of the major things my students work on aside from academics in school is their social skills. It is truly a blessing to get to watch my students become more independent when interacting with their gen-ed peers. My students work on these skills by having opportunities for inclusion in specials and reverse inclusion opportunities with their gen-ed peers in our classroom.
