The materials requested in this project will help build an engaging and relevant classroom library for my students. The mixture of fiction and nonfiction books will help expose them to many forms of literature. I've also requested a set of African-American books which would be wonderful to have in my classroom as these books will be culturally relevant to my students. I've noticed over my years of teaching that many students do not have access to books at home and I would love to be able to build a library for them to utilize both in and out of the classroom.
