I am a 7 grade Science teacher in a urban middle school of 350 7th graders. Many of my students lack academic skills with scientific text and technology necessary to excel in school. To further my reach to my students I decided to become the Head Girls Track & Field coach as well. My student athletes really are passionate about sports. But at times, they feel that "they" are not worth much because of the community and poverty that surrounds them. I just want to give my girls a chance to become outstanding student athletes. "Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough" ~Og Mandino~
