I am asking for 4 iPads to support our students with disabilities.
My students are hard-working but have learning goals that are not always addressed in the general education curriculum but that can be addressed with technology. Let me give you an example.
C doesn't know her multiplication tables by heart, but she would if I could put an iPad with an appropriate app in her hands 15 minutes a day, 3 days a week.
K. really wants to read "A Wrinkle in Time" but is reading on a 3rd grade level. She's more likely to stick with the text and improve her vocabulary with an iPad. Let's download an audio file to support her literacy!
S. can understand almost any text he reads, but his inaccurate oral fluency is holding him back. He hates practicing boring skills but loves tech. Gee, I wish I had an iPad with a fluency app on it.
I could literally write 30 paragraphs about how these iPads will benefit my individual students. With this technology, my students will be empowered to close the gaps that hold them back from fully accessing grade-level material.
