Remember the days of being stuck in a single chair all day at school? This type of seating is not the most beneficial to student learning. As a teacher of active young learners, I want to give them the opportunity to choose seating that allows them to move. I strongly believe that giving students choice in the classroom builds a positive classroom environment. Providing choices that allow students to remain active is essential in helping them stay focused and engaged in academic tasks. Wobble chairs and bouncy bands, in particular, will allow my students to move their bodies while they work.
Every student deserves to make choices in their education. Seating is one way for me to provide a choice for my students in a way that helps them grow as young learners.
