I am asking for Samsung Chromebooks and a charging cart for my students. I would like 10 Chromebooks so that I can rotate my students between meeting with me and using the Chromebooks for learning activities during the school day. The charging cart is for effective storage of the Chromebooks. These Chromebooks will enhance the learning experience for my students in many ways. First, by providing them with hands on practice for skills that previously they've only been able to learn about second hand. Our technology allotments are seriously lacking, yet my students are required to take assessments on computers. It can be frustrating for many students to only experience technology in short review periods and then during the actual tests. It would be wonderful for each student to feel comfortable with technology and be able to actually show what they know on the test, not worry about the functionality of the computer itself because they are familiar with how it works.
My students will also be able to utilize the Chromebooks to do their research projects and papers using Google Docs, Slides and Sheets. Students will be able to make Powerpoint slides, write plays, create diagrams, science fair projects, research and other presentations. During Fun Friday celebrations, students will be able to use the chromebooks in a technology club.
