I will be a first-year Kindergarten teacher in August and I am so excited to make sure my kids have the best first year of school possible. Many of the items I have included on my wish list are there to make my students feel at home and to better increase their learning opportunities.
Kindergarten is a scary time for kids, that is why I want them to feel like they have a home within our classroom. That is why I have included aspects like the LED lights to go around the board to bring fun and light, and the wireless microphone for letting their voices be heard - and maybe singing a few songs along the way! I also want to provide opportunities for my students to learn in the best way they know how. That is why I included the wobble chairs, fidget toys, and fidget seat bands so kids can use their large amounts of energy productively and feel like they have a safe way to get that energy out.
The academic resources I included in my list like the sight word books and ten-frames are there to make sure I can provide my students with a multitude of learning resources to help them grow. I included the stick-on whiteboard paper so that I could cover my small group table in it and let students do their work on it for increased engagement and variety in learning opportunities.
Thank you so so much for your support. This will mean the world to me and my students.
