We will use the metal rings and the index cards for students at each grade level (K-5) to create a running set of vocabulary words. The students will record the word, the definition, synonyms, antonyms, and a quick sketch on each card and then add it to his/her personal vocabulary ring.
The rings will be passed to the grade level above each year so that the students can continue to grow their vocabularies throughout their entire K-5 education and see how many words they have learned. We hope to link this project to the importance of reading independently as well.
