My classroom is a very happy place! I teach 5th grade and 6th grade ELA. I chose to teach middle school because I believed that middle school students would be energetic, fun-loving, eager-to-learn tweens and teens, and I was right. There is never a dull moment.
When you walk into my classroom you'll often see students in camping chairs that I've set up around the room with a book in their hands. This is because I believe that if you're going to enjoy reading, you need to get cozy! My students spend time reading independently, but we also read class novels together.
The characters in our books teach us to try on different perspectives. The scenarios in our books make us think outside the box and encourage class discussions, and let me tell you, they get lively!
To anyone who chooses to help fund this project, thank you for supporting my classroom and giving my students a variety of engaging book to choose from!
