I teach English I and AP Literature & Composition at a small, rural, public high school on the Navajo Nation. My 9th & 12th grade students are incredibly enthusiastic to be exposed to different learning styles. I would love to expose them to more resources than the school can currently provide. Many are looking at higher education and it has come to my attention that many of my students have difficulty preparing for the transition to college. At the school, there are very few resources to help prepare them. Their friends and family want to do all they can, but since many of them are not college graduates themselves, they are unsure of where to start. The school, the district, and many of the students' families lack the money to provide the students with the tools they need to complete high school successfully and move on to college seamlessly.
