Our classroom carpet is the "hub" of our learning. Each day we gather here for Morning Meeting, Closing Circle, Reading and Writing workshop as well as Math, Science and Social Studies lessons. The meeting area carpet also doubles as a place for students to read or write independently and engage in small group work.
Our classroom carpet is an integral part of every lesson and serves as a space for us to build community. Students feel warm and welcomed and have their own personal carpet spots where they can engage in whole group and partner discussions. A new classroom carpet will create a climate of learning that will benefit all of my students.
