I am a bilingual third grade language arts and social studies teacher to 60 students. I teach two great groups of 3rd graders- my monolingual English speaking class in the morning and my bilingual Spanish class in the afternoon. Two languages, two groups of students, makes my day twice as fun.
At my school we call our students leaders because we believe that every student has a genius and every student can be a leader.
50% of my students are English Language Learners, 8 are Diverse Learners, and 87% of our families are low income. These are statistics that describe their reality but it does not define or limit them. We value and celebrate the diversity in our school community and empower our students to achieve academically and personally. My students are eager to learn and lead, and I am dedicated to ensuring that their learning time with me is rich, joyful, and memorable.
