We hope to be able to fill our classroom library with new and engaging books through your donation. The books selected were either personally requested by my students or chosen to reflect our 53% Hispanic or Latino demographic.
My project will give students access to engaging and relevant books. Students will use these books weekly, as they are given 30 minutes a week in class to read a book of their choice and are required to read at least an hour at home per week. Through the generous donation of donors, we can help create a lifelong love of reading, allow students to see mirrors of themselves in their independently selected books, and continue to develop crucial comprehension skills, vocabulary, and an awareness of the world around them.
