In order to incorporate different modes of learning to meet the diverse needs of all of the learners in this classroom, a variety of activities and programs are used. Many of these programs such as Zearn, Khan Academy, BrainPop, NewsELA, ABCya, etc., as well as skills such as research and typing, require daily access to technology. At the present time, they do not have daily access to this technology. Having immediate, classroom access to Chromebooks would promote a more student-centered learning environment for them. Programs such as the ones listed above, allow for individualized learning plans for students. A set of Chromebooks for these low-income, inner-city students would offer them a modernized tool to use toward being college and career ready. Through the power of technology, these Chromebooks would help to open the students eyes to a larger world of promise, one outside of their inner-city life. With more access to technology the possibilities for these young learners, their education and their futures will become endless.
