Distance learning is a much more difficult learning environment, especially for younger students. They are missing out on some of the most critical social emotional learning that occurs in primary school. One way to help support that learning and keep students engaged is through art.
Art is such a critical skill for students to experience and practice. I have spent every year I have been in the classroom trying to integrate art in different mediums to support and encourage core subject learning. Art allows a deeper level of understanding, and the ability to create and share is very important when we cannot occupy the same space. Since we cannot occupy the same space, we cannot share materials.
It has always been difficult to provide project materials out of my own pocket every year, but I have always felt it was worth it. I also was able to share and save materials from year to year. However, with the state of the world, I must provide a set of materials for each student, and I need help.
Please help me provide art supplies for my students to use during distance learning!
