My 20 spectacular second grade students create a diverse learning environment where we are able to come together to share ideas, learn from each other, and act as a community. Half of my students speak another language at home (Spanish or Arabic), and are classified as ELLs/ESLs. Some of my students receive SPED services and some fall at Tier 3 instruction for intervention. Most of my students live in impoverished areas where transportation, access to internet, and access to quality food can be limited. Despite these hardships (there are still more), my students come to class ready to engage in my lessons. They love to discuss stories with me and create their own. They are very engaged in Math and love a good Math challenge. They love to research and watch videos to see things in action! They are a naturally curious group.
