I work at a Title 1 school. What this means is that more than 80% of the students at this school are on free and reduced lunch. There are many students at our school that when they leave for the day, they begin to have to worry about where they might sleep and/or what they might be able to eat for dinner.
When the students come to school they don't have to have these worries, as no child should. When my students come in the door they have smiles on their faces and are ready for the day. They can feel safe and forget about the tough situations they may be in. They are hard workers and determined young students.
