My students come from a high-poverty community in California and experience many adversities that keep them from receiving the quality care and education that they each deserve. The school that they attend has limited resources that barely meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. My hope is to provide them with a quality education where they can fully and freely explore who they are and find value in the communities that they come from. As a social justice educator, I want to create a safe learning environment for these students to make sense of their world and understand their individual roles in impacting their communities.
