I have been an English teacher at El Camino Fundamental High School, my alma mater (c/o 2000), for six years. During my time here, I have held several roles outside of teaching: Department Chair, Leadership Team, AVID Coordinator for four years, and advisor to several clubs. I have taught English 2, Honors English 2, English 3, English 4, and AVID. Outside of SJUSD, I am a Fellow with the Central Valley Holocaust Educator's Network (CVHEN) and facilitate professional development for teachers around teaching the Holocaust in today's classrooms. I am extremely passionate about turning every student into a reader! I started an Independent Reading program based on Penny Kittle's book: Book Love and since then, my students have had great success becoming readers.
