I teach in a small Oklahoma town where economic challenges can make classroom resources difficult to obtain. As a STEM teacher and the 6th grade camp director, I work with students who thrive when learning is hands-on, creative, and connected to real-world experiences.
My classroom includes a wide range of learners—from high-achieving students to ESL students to those who are reluctant readers or writers. I love finding ways to engage every student by encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Through monthly projects, cross-curricular challenges, and enrichment opportunities, students are encouraged to take risks, collaborate, and think outside the box.
I strive to create meaningful learning experiences that feel exciting and attainable for all students, regardless of background. With the right resources, my students can explore ideas more deeply, build confidence, and become lifelong learners.
