Tablets are utilized every day in our classroom for language arts and math. However, our tablets are very limited and only have a few applications my students can use for those subjects. Every student handles my technology with care and appreciation. In addition, each of my students works so wonderfully with each other. I would love to see the excitement in their eyes when they realize how engaging math and reading games can be, and that they can work together to solve problems.
With these new iPads and OSMO, my students will be able to choose from meaningful math and language arts games that will allow them to work collaboratively and become 21st century learners.
They will also be able to find joy in subjects that might otherwise be difficult or daunting for them. Without the pressure of the class or teacher listening, they will have a unique opportunity to work autonomously and at their own pace with a partner.
