The third grade field trip to Fort Fisher Aquarium and Historical Site is a learning experience many of our students have never had before. After studying about fresh and saltwater life, students will be given the chance to explore the aquarium, putting their knowledge into practice as they complete an aquarium scavenger hunt.
Students will get to encounter the aquatic life they have only read about. They will also collect soil and sand samples to compare to the soils found in their communities. The trip will end with the exploration of the historic Fort Fisher where they will tour scenic trails and learn about the supply port of Wilmington that was essential during the last months of the Civil War.
