My school is located in the suburbs of Minneapolis. We are a magnet school for children's engineering. More than 50% of our students come from poverty and over 20 different languages are spoken in the school. We also have high mobility, meaning children move in and out of our school quite frequently. This often leaves large gaps in learning.
My classroom is a rainbow of diversity in terms of culture, race, and ability. My students are very active. I refer to many of them as, "bodies in motion." They are a young group, many with summer birthdays. They love to read and write, and we are all developing a love for problem solving.
