My students love making connections to their learning. Some of our most fascinating discussions have come from a simple question: Why? For example, a lesson on habitats grew into learning about icebergs, climate change, the Titanic, and then the Mariana Trench. So "why" Scholastic News?
Scholastic News magazine and its online resources will provide all of my students the ability to access the same information in ways that are best suited for their learning.
Scholastic News is the perfect addition to our curriculum. It is full of information that will undoubtedly elevate our classroom connections and discussions. My students will be able to read their newsletters independently, in small groups, and even use them as resources for research projects. We will also have the opportunity to unpack information in the newsletters through whole group discussions.
Scholastic News online is also a wonderful opportunity for my students to extend their learning outside of the classroom and share it with teachers, parents, friends, and family. How amazing would it be to have students want to discuss their learning with you?
Why donate? Because my students will continue to develop and build their nonfiction reading skills. They will learn about important current and historical events and make strong connections across all content areas. Because of you, this experience will encourage and deepen their love of learning and reading. Why? Because they deserve every opportunity to learn. Please help me give this to them.
