Each day I teach three 60-90 minute literacy blocks. These blocks range in age, literacy development, maturity, size, you name it! Over the first semester we worked hard to learn a lot of different reading standards: main idea and supporting details, summarizing, cause and effect, text features, and many more! Now it's time to get our ~review~ on.
My students are independent and goal oriented, but they're still fun-loving kids! As we move closer to the end of the year, it's time to go over what we've learned and really solidify our reading strategies. That's where you come in! We're looking to purchase some fun and engaging reading games that will help my students review and reach their literacy goals. These Lakeshore resources are AWESOME because they were designed with curriculum AND kids in mind. The rules are straight-forward and kid-friendly, which allows my students to work in kid-lead teams while I work with students that need a little bit more teacher support.
