It is beneficial for my students to start now learning new ways of coding and design because technology is ever changing. My goal to to expose the students at Highland Renaissance Academy technology and makerspace activities that other schools within our district benefit from in their classrooms. The children will be using coding to create their own games, or to operate mini robots.
Much of the content that the children will receive will incorporate STEM based activities . The items that I have chosen, will help us start our Makerspace Lego Wall which will be the schools first Makerspace activity. I have also selected items that will allow the children to start learning engineering hands on. I also want to encourage the children to be confident in their creations by capturing what they have made and printing them out to share with their families. This will give the students family to see their growth and they as well be confident in their child's interest in not only STEM based curriculum but STEAM based curriculum as well.
