In my classroom, I strive to give my students opportunities to collaborate with one another on a daily basis. Algebra class isn't always their favorite, but it is quite a game changer to get to interact with their peers while they try to find a solution to the given problem. I believe that giving them different means to demonstrate their learning (besides the traditional paper and pencil), engages and motivates students to excel in the classroom.
Your donation would help support a wonderful group of students that deserve basic classroom needs to collaborate and support one another. I have requested easel pads for small group learning and reteach moments. I teach Algebra 1, PreAP Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, so my board space has to be split between my preps and these sheets would be quite easy to move around when needed. I have also requested dry erase boards and markers for group work. My students love using these and the level of participation always increases when students get to show their work on boards instead of paper. Lastly, the dry erase sheets are removable, so students will use them in the classroom as well as in the hallway during gallery walks and scavenger hunts.
