We have a diverse population in our district. More than 90% of our classes are ENL ( English as a New Language) students or students with a variety of learning disabilities. Another factor is that a large number of our students enter school at least a grade level below their counterparts in other districts. Many of my students come to school each day ready to learn and experience new things. Unfortunately, this usually is the only place where they have these experiences due to the fact that they come from low socio-economic communities.
